Food engineering stands at the intersection of science, technology, engineering, and sustainability, with a direct impact on human health, food security, and quality of life. Population growth, evolving consumer expectations, increasing pressure on natural resources, and the demand for safe, high-quality food continue to reshape the global food system and expand the responsibilities of food engineers.

At the Department of Food Engineering at Çankırı Karatekin University, we are committed to providing our students with a strong foundation in science and engineering and the ability to apply this knowledge to real-world challenges. Our educational approach integrates theoretical knowledge with laboratory and practical experience, encourages analytical and critical thinking, and fosters scientific curiosity. We aim to educate engineers who can evaluate complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and continually advance their knowledge in response to scientific and technological developments.

Our undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes are closely connected with the research activities of the Department. We seek to advance our academic expertise through national and international collaboration and active engagement with the food industry. Our research encompasses a broad range of areas, from food safety and quality to the development of novel products and processes, innovative food technologies, and sustainable food production.
